The Hard Wire Cutter, Angled is designed specifically for cutting hard orthodontic wire, including ligature wire and elastics, where standard cutters would wear down quickly. Its 15° angled head improves access to areas of the arch that are harder to reach at a straight angle, letting clinicians position the jaws precisely against the wire without awkward wrist rotation.
Both cutting edges are engineered for the hardness needed to cut stiffer wire cleanly and consistently — handling wire up to .022″ x .028″ (.56mm x .71mm), toward the upper end of what’s typically encountered in orthodontic adjustments. This makes it a dependable choice for heavier archwire changes where a finer ligature cutter would be under-built for the task.
The ergonomic handle profile is built for extra strong grip during cutting, reducing hand fatigue during repeated cuts across a full day of adjustments, while the instrument’s 12.5cm length keeps it manageable for precise intraoral control.
