Williams Probe, 1-2-3-5-7-8-9-10, Metal, SE
Williams probe is marked with mm interval up to 10mm. 4 mm and 6 mm marking is absent in Williams probe. These missing mm intervals help to identify the depth in minute conditions. Ideal Gingival pocket depth is approximately 3 to 4 mm. To ascertain a clear perception the demarcation of 4 mm and 6 mm is missing from a William’s probe. When the Periodontal probe is placed withing the Gingival sulcus, these areas of no marking helps get the abnormal pocket depth, if any.
