The Sugarman file is a double ended instrument, used for interproximal bone reduction. The Sugarman file is relatively easy to use, very safe, and you can use it in addition to standard crown lengthening bur.There are certain circumstances when crown lengthening bur does not fit in between teeth (especially upper molars), so in that case you have no choice but to use the Sugarman file.

Sugarman File Instrumentation:
Move in & out, back and forth in the interproximal area, to reduce the peak of bone.
Move slowly and gradually to avoid stuck in tendency of these files.
Slow back and forth motion will reduce the vertical height of bone interproximally.
Once the interproximal area gets larger, then motion in & out motion can be increase for a safe reduction.
These files have two cutting side with a flat side. Flat side protect the teeth to get damage form sides.
