Periodontal Chisels are designed to excise bone during orthopedic surgical procedures. These chisels typically consist of a sturdy handheld, manual instrument including a wide (more than one inch is typical) straight or slightly curved flat blade with a beveled cutting edge and a handle.
OchsenBein Periodontal Chisels have semi-circular indentation on both sides of the shank, it allows the instrument to engage around the tooth and into the interdental area. Ochsenbein Chisels are paired with cutting edges in opposite directions.
